Hi-Country’s Pemmican Bites follow the traditions of Native American-made pemmican by combining a unique blend of protein rich meat with nutrient loaded grains, dried fruits, seeds, and nuts into jerky style bites. Native Americans, specifically the Cree, used pemmican as a nutritious food because of its high protein and fat content. Hi-Country takes on their traditions, producing a healthier, all natural version, energy packed for active life styles.
This balance of meat protein and nutrient rich ingredients make Pemmican Bites ideal for any outdoor or indoor activity. Each bite is packed with the nutrition and energy for an active body. Our Pemmican Bites are wheat free, milk free, no monosodium glutamate, and no added nitrites (except those naturally occurring in sea salt and celery powder).

Simple carbs are made up of sugars (sugars, honey, cranberries, blueberries, pineapple juice) and absorb more rapidly for quick energy. Complex carbs are made up of fiber and starch (flax seed, almonds, rolled oats, brown rice) and absorb more slowly providing you with a steady supply of energy.
